The Shorthorn breed was originally created by the Colling brothers in the late 18th century. With over 200 years of history this native UK breed has formed the backbone of cattle breeding all across the globe. It is estimated that over 40 different breeds of cattle can be traced back to the Shorthorn. 

With it’s superb suitability to organic and sustainable farming systems, this breed is one of our most popular for our customers. It’s well rounded combination of flavour, tenderness and fat content are what makes it special.

Our suppliers provide us with some of the best animals in the north-east of Scotland and we work closely with accrediting bodies to ensure that all our meat is of the highest quality and from traceable sources.
